The Adventure Brings…

A summer’s worth talking about for years to come. Children will be engaged in a variety of activities that promote their educational learning along with their social-emotional growth. Children will work individually, with partners, and in teams to create a summer that will be an “adventure” of a lifetime.

We are partnering with ISU Educational Outreach, Dubuque County Farm Bureau Educational Outreach, and other local organizations to enrich our programs with activities that provide meaningful experiences and thoughtful engagement.

Students will also learn how to communicate effectively with others by participating in social skills lessons and a special opportunity to learn ASL (American Sign Language) throughout the summer. By the end of the summer, students will be able to communicate basic conversational topics with one another without talking.

Weekly themes are the overall concept of what students will be focusing on during that week. Activities, field trips, lessons, and outreach programs will all be in relation to the weekly theme.

Children will be grouped according to their previous year of schooling to best fit their educational needs as well as emotional-social needs. Students will work individually, in teams, and as a whole group to complete crazy adventures based on their weekly themes.

Weekly activities will include:

  • STEaM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)
  • Gym/Outside Time
  • Crafts
  • Two by Two Character Development
  • Daily Reading
  • and more!
What if it is very hot outside?

We will limit the time in the sun as much as possible and shorten some activities on some days weather depending.
