The Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA Union Park Day Camp has a strong emphasis on enjoying nature and being active in the outdoors. Camp helps each child develop environmental awareness while learning camping skills. Campers will also enjoy activities that promote individual growth in areas of self-esteem, responsibility, communication, independence, leadership, and our Christian values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

 

DAY CAMP SEASON

June 8 – August 14 | 1-Week Sessions Available
Ages 6 – 14

Program Hours:
Monday – Friday 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Includes lunch.

Caring for children who have completed Kindergarten through Grade 5.

Program Fees – Traditional Day Camp:

$149 Member/Week*
$179 Non-Member/Week
Registration Fee: $25 (One time fee)
*Must have a 1 or 2 adult household membership for member rate.

Program Fees – Horse Camp Adventure Training:

CAMP INFORMATION & REGISTRATION  

NEW THIS YEAR
TRANSPORTATION, DROP-OFF, AND PICK-UP
Each day kids can be dropped off at the Y between 7:30 AM and 8:15 AM and a bus will depart promptly at 8:16 AM for camp. The bus will arrive back at the Dubuque Y at 4:45 PM. Kids can be picked up from the Y between 4:45 PM and 5:30 PM. If you choose to drop off and pick up your child at camp, they will need to be dropped off after 8:30 AM and picked up by 4:45 PM as we will not have anyone to supervise at camp before or after those times.
LUNCH NOW PROVIDED
This year we will be providing lunch to all campers. Lunches will be on the same rotation as cool school and a menu will be sent out the week prior with the rest of the informational packet. All provided food will be free of tree nuts and we ask that you avoid bringing any snacks that include tree nuts as well to ensure the safety of those with allergies.
FACEBOOK GROUP
We are excited to announce we will also be starting a camp Facebook group which will allow you to see pictures and videos of your kids while they are at camp! Like us on Facebook (Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA) and watch your email as camp gets closer for more information on this.
CAMP T-SHIRTS
Each child will receive 1 free t-shirt at the first week of camp they attend! On Monday of each week we will take an all camp picture with their shirts on and share those on our Facebook group.

GROUP ACTIVITIES

Depending on age and level, group activities may include Archery | Arts & Crafts | Black Hole | Hiking | Creek Stomping | Games | Songs | Horseback Riding (weather permitting) | Low Ropes Course | Swimming | Zipline | GaGa Ball.

MEMBERSHIP RATE
Consider a Y family membership so your child can enjoy a whole year of activities at the member rate. Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA family memberships are available on a monthly draft or annual payment plan.
The Dubuque Y now offers income-based pricing which allows individuals and families to provide documentation of income and receive an adjusted rate that fits them for the membership type they are looking for. HORSE CAMP PERFORMANCE

Horse camp parents are invited to view a demonstration of skills learned, beginning at 4:00 PM on Friday. Come to the barn area and bring a lawn chair or two. The demonstration will last about 45-60 minutes.

FAQ'S

Do I need a Family Membership to receive the member rate? Yes, please see the information above or on the camp brochure.

Is there a registration fee? Yes, there is a $25 one time fee.

What is the earliest I can drop my child off? 7:30 at the Dubuque Y.

Where is Drop off and Pick up? Drop off is between 7:30-8:15 am at the Dubuque Y. Pick up is between 4:45 pm and 5:30 pm at the Dubuque Y.

What is the latest I can pick up my child? 5:30 at the Dubuque Y.

Can I pick up my child up early or drop my child off late? Yes, one can pick up their child BEFORE 4:30 pm at camp or drop off their child AFTER 8:30 am.

Can I bring my own child’s lunch? Yes, make sure nothing in the lunch needs to be refrigerated and please refrain from packing anything with peanuts or tree nuts.

What items should I pack? Change of clothes, swimsuit, towel, hat, water bottle, optional snack, Sun Screen.

What do the themes mean? Themes will be used for crafts and various actives during the week each. There are other activities that will remain similar as far as main activities from week to week.

What if it is very hot outside? We will limit the time in the sun as much as possible and shorten some activities on some days weather depending.

What if it rains? We will run as normal and will have board games, crafts, and other group activities.
