Y Sports (formerly DYSA)
It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you learn the game. In Y Sports – formerly DYSA, kids develop their skill in basketball and volleyball, while focusing on teamwork and sportsmanship. Supportive volunteer coaches build your child’s confidence while having fun and being part of a team.
Beginners and experienced players are welcome! Players register for the league, then are placed onto teams. Practices are organized and scheduled by the volunteer coaches after teams have been assigned; the Y does not provide practice space/times.
The Y has gym space available for teams to rent upon request for practice space. Season rental fee is $100 per team. To inquire on availability, please email Dave Baker at dbaker@dubuquey.org or call (563) 556-3371. The first two weekends of the season are dedicated solely toward team practice, no games will be held during that time.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
- All players must register individually. Players may state the name of the team that they’d like to be placed on at the time of registration.
- Coaches of teams must email Dave Baker at dbaker@dubuquey.org with the following information:
- Team name
- Age division
- Coach and assistant coach contact information (Phone number and email address)
- Team roster
- Scheduling conflicts
- Registration is open to all. YMCA members will receive a discounted rate upon registration.
- Our coaches are purely volunteers. We are always looking for parents that are interested in volunteering their time to coach one of our Y Sports teams. If you are interested in volunteering to coach a team this season, please email Dave.
